School Continuous Improvement Plan

A Living Roadmap for Student Success

What is a School Continuous Improvement Plan? (SCIP)

At Mary Bergeron Elementary, we believe that great schools are always learning — just like great students. Our School Continuous Improvement Plan (SCIP) is a working roadmap that guides the growth and development of our school. It outlines what we’re focused on, why it matters, and how we’re going to move forward — all with the goal of improving student achievement and well-being.

Why is the SCIP Important?

The SCIP helps our school community — including staff, families, and school council — answer essential questions like:

  • What are our current strengths as a school?

  • Where do we need to grow in order to better serve all students?

  • How can we use data and feedback to make smart, student-centered decisions?

With input from teachers, support staff, and families, the SCIP ensures that our goals are clear, focused, and responsive to the needs of our learners. It helps us celebrate what’s working — and identify where we need to dig deeper or do better.

Throughout the year, we monitor progress using a variety of tools and reflections so we can make adjustments as needed. It’s not a “one-and-done” plan — it’s a living document that grows with us, centered on our vision:
Every Student; a Success Story.
