Bell Schedule

Every Day Counts — Every Minute Matters

At Mary Bergeron Elementary, we know that consistent routines help students feel secure, connected, and ready to learn. That’s why we encourage all families to help their children arrive on time and attend regularly. Even in the early years, good attendance builds strong habits, reduces learning gaps, and strengthens classroom relationships. Put simply: when students show up, they grow.

Morning Routine

  • Supervision begins at 8:00 AM.
  • When students arrive, they should head directly to the playground where staff are present.
  • A warning bell at 8:30 AM signals students to come inside and begin their day.

Being on time helps your child start their day confidently and calmly, and ensures they don’t miss valuable learning or connection time with their peers.

Late Arrivals

If your child arrives after the 8:30 bell, they must stop at the office to check in and receive a late slip before heading to class. This helps us ensure accurate attendance and a safe school environment.

Reporting Absences

If your child will be absent, please notify the school as soon as possible. This allows us to quickly confirm the safe arrival of all students.

You can report absences by emailing: mbe@gypsd.ca

Please include your child’s full name and the reason for their absence.
